1. How (and when) do I pay the monthly subscription fee
We will send an e-mail to the registered account in the software with billing information and a link to a secure site for payment. We accept payment by credit card or company check. If you plan on paying by check, print out the invoice and mail along with your check. Please allow sufficient time for delivery of your payment without interfering with your backups. If you have made payment by check close to the due date, please contact billing@backuphelp.com to let us know so that your account will continue without interruption.
2. What if I need a receipt
You can print a receipt of the transaction from the secure site at which you make payment.
3. $6.95 Critical Data Only Plan - features and limitations
The $6.95 software edition was designed to back up files in \My Documents. It will automatically identify any new files or folders that you place there. If there are files in other folders that you wish to back up, you can add them to your backup set and the software will track any changes to them. With this edition of the software you cannot select an entire folder, only individual files.
You may protect as many files as you wish, any place on your hard disk, but you are limited to a total size of 100 MB. To keep your backup set within the limit, you should review your selections to confirm that your critical data files are selected and that unnecessary files are not. In Backup View, switch the display from a list of your files to a directory tree format, by clicking "Explore to pick files…" (in the blue frame on the left).
4. $14.95 Data Only Plan - features and limitations
With the $14.95 software edition, users may choose Automatic or Manual file selection. In Automatic mode, the software will search the entire hard disk for data files and include them in the backup set. Data files are files that you created, such as documents, e-mails, and preferences or settings - just about everything except program applications and other files that don't change. You can review and fine-tune the selections by adding and removing files from the backup set. There are special tools to help you set conditions that define which files to include or exclude. In Manual mode, nothing is selected.
You may protect as many files as you wish, any place on your hard disk - individual files or entire folders -- but you are limited to a total size of 4 GB in your backup set.
5. $24.94 Full System Plan - features and limitations
With the $24.95 full system edition, the software will automatically select all files on the computer, except for nonessential files such as *.tmp and *.bak. You can also review and fine-tune the selections by adding and removing files from the backup set. There are special tools to help you set conditions that define which files to include or exclude.
The full system plan also includes a function called iHeal. This function allows you to restore your system files to any point in time during the last 30 days when a backup occurred. This allows you to correct system problems which occur due to such things as failed software installations, computer viruses, or human error. This process should always be used with caution, since you are modifying your system. We provide support for using the iHeal function, but can not provide support for any system problems you may have. If you need help with your system, please contact us to see if we have a referral partner in your area that may be able to help.
You may protect up to 10 GB in your backup set. For detailed information, review some of the other topics on this site.
