1. Free trial offer
The trial period begins the day that you start your account and continues for 30 days. If the files you select for backup exceed the limit for your plan you will need to deselect some files from your backup set to bring the backup set size under the limit. If you need to change plans, uninstall the current version of the software through Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and then download and install the correct plan for your needs. The free trial period will continue from your original installation date.
We will send you an e-mail about two weeks into the trial, directing you on how to sign up for the service and for billing information. If you wish to continue backing up, simply follow the link provided and fill in the information requested. If you decide not to sign up, your account will be cancelled at the end of the trial period. It is not necessary to contact us to request cancellation of your account. Accounts that have been abandoned during the trial are automatically canceled. Since we do not require any billing information for the trial, you do not need to worry about incurring charges you do not approve.
Canceled accounts can be reactivated for a period of 30 days after cancellation. If you need to reinstate your account, please contact billing@backuphelp.com to request us to reactivate your account and send billing information.
2. Where to get the backup software
The backup software, "The Backup Solution", can be downloaded from our web site. When you visit www.backuphelp.com you will find a link to the free download right on the home page. For a direct link to the account options and downloads, click here.
If you are using the software to re-establish your account, the same software should be downloaded. When you first run the software, be sure to check the box on the registration screen to indicate that you already have an account. This will prevent accidentally opening a new account and will recover your existing account to the computer.
3. Registering a new account
When you connect to the data center for the first time, you will be assigned an account number that identifies the computer that you will be backing up, and you will be given the option of printing your account information. We recommend you to print the information as it contains your account number, encryption key and password which are required to recover your account if needed along with instructions. If you do not print this sheet and need to reinstall the software, you will have to contact support@backuphelp.com for this information.
4. How many computers can an account have?
Each computer requires its own account number, so the answer is one.
Unique account numbers enable the storage of vast amounts of data from computers around the world without losing track of it. The account number identifies which files belong to which computer.
5. Recovering an existing account
Download the current release of the software from our web site. When you run it, be sure to check the box on the registration screen to indicate that you already have an account. This will avoid accidentally opening a new account. The software will then guide you through the account recovery process.

6. How version upgrades are handled
From time to time, Connected and BackUp Solutions make changes to the software that will improve performance or add new features. When the new version has been thoroughly tested, it is released to our customers. Your version is then upgraded the next time you back up. There is no action required on your part and you will always have the latest version.
